Antique hand-forged wrought iron wall rack, often referred to as an “archelle.” Likely Spanish in origin, with examples traditionally dated between the 17th and late 19th centuries. This example closely corresponds to a 17th-century archelle held in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, though precise dating of wrought iron remains inherently difficult.
The piece features elaborate scrollwork with stylized foliage and a central arched form. Fitted with five hooks, it was historically used in kitchens for hanging towels, cups, or utensils
