Modernist Walnut Desk
A superb modernist walnut desk with clean lines and beautiful proportions. The designer is unknown, but the piece strongly recalls the early modernist furniture produced by P.E. Gane in the 1930s. The rich walnut veneer and simple geometric form give it a timeless elegance that feels both classic and contemporary.
There are a few small areas of veneer loss, shown in the photos, but overall it remains a fantastic and highly functional piece. With its design similarities to Marcel Breuer’s work for Thonet, this desk is a wonderful example of early modernist craftsmanship.
